  • POST#2020-19 Production Control Planner

    POSITION TITLE: Production Control Planner

    DEPARTMENT:  Production Control

    REPORTS TO:  Master Scheduler

     

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Review Engineering Change Requirements and Process Routing Requests for Material impact. Provide appropriate feedback

    • Review Sales Order Notifications, highlight any potential schedule conflicts

    • Review material requirements in MRP.

    • Create Job Traveler packages and (requesting manufacturing process, ensure correct authorization). Ensure Serialization is maintained as per procedures (when required)

    • Issue Job Travelers, monitor work in process, review and complete Job Travelers.

    • Create and maintains the production plan in MRP system based on available production capacity (Machine & labour)

    • Coordinates client requirements with internal teams i.e. Procurement, Production, Engineering, Sales, and Quality.

    • Organize and take lead in weekly production meetings.

    • Assist with Request for Quotes, packaging, and material requirements.

    • Review inventory levels and make recommendations on a continual basis.

    • Assist and have an understanding of annual Physical Inventory and cycle counts.

    • Expedite vendors and outside processes to meet schedule requirements.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Thorough understanding of materials management and product life cycles.

    • MRP Experience (Epicor MRP is considered an asset)

     

     

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Obtain Enhanced Security Clearance from the Government of Canada

    • Maintenance of secure and confidential company information

    • Adherence to Colt Canada Corporation’s policies and procedures

    • To ensure co-workers and yourself are working in a safe manner following all Health & Safety policies and to report all unsafe conditions to your supervisor.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Post-secondary education in Materials Management or demonstrated equivalent work experience.

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in product control

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in all aspects of Material Requirements Planning including a complete understanding of the interaction between Bill of Materials, inventory levels, planning, purchase requisitions, Job Travelers and Customer requirements

    • Understanding of machine shop/assembly environment.

    • Excellent computer skills, including ERPs and Microsoft Excel

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Internal – All departments

    • External – Suppliers

     

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH & SAFETY ISSUES, CONDITIONS, PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Office environment – extensive periods of sitting, keyboarding, problem solving, analysis, negotiation, and presentation

    • Manufacturing Environment – Safety shoes and glasses required when working in Shipping/Stores

  • POST#2020-20 Maintenance Mechanic/Millwright

    POSITION TITLE: Maintenance Mechanic/Millwright

    DEPARTMENT:  Maintenance (145)

    REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor

     

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintain all facility equipment

    • Complete building maintenance, includes lighting, furniture, plumbing, etc.

    • Machine repair and installation, includes mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatics.

    • Maintain and repair small tools (deburring tools, small hand tools, etc.)

    • Perform regular routine maintenance on all machinery, includes oil / coolant changes, machine cleaning, filter changes, etc.)

    • Maintain inventory of supplies, includes oils, coolants, maint.  Parts and janitorial.

    • Required to assist other departments when requested

    • Fork lift driving

    • Must be capable of working with the following machines and equipment:

    • All basic hand and power tools

    • Some tool room equipment (mills, lathes, etc.)

    • Basic test equipment

    • Fork lift truck

    • Welding environment

    The above list covers major aspects of the job.  Other duties may be assigned as required.

     

    ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Must ensure all health and safety requirements for equipment and maintenance are adhered to.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must have electrical / mechanical journey person status in industrial maintenance (mechanic / millwright) or minimum 5 years equivalent experience.

    • Experience with CNC machines and other machine shop equipment.

    • Troubleshooting and repair (electrical, electronic, and mechanical).

    • Able to do mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical / electronic troubleshooting.

    • Able to read blueprints –electrical / mechanical.

    • Basic carpentry / plumbing skills.

    • Able to drive forklift trucks.

    • Organizational skills.

    • Able to work with minimal supervision.

    • Willing to learn and train in other areas of the maintenance field.

    • PLC experience.

    • Willing to work short notice overtime being on-call some Saturdays, holidays, or other shifts if required.

    • Accept responsibility to be part of the security team.
